Fiddling Around Filinvest City

I got lost here... And didn't even know it. This wasn't the mall I was looking for. But I'm still glad I ended up here anyway.

Purple Frames
Purple Frames. I'm not sure what this was about but the sculpture there at the center was certainly eye catching. It's both simple and artsy. I like it.

As some may have probably guessed, I don't go to Alabang often. I had an errand I needed to go to after lunch, and I was a tad crazy enough to try my luck going to Alabang Town Center for lunch unaided by GPS and based only on what I remembered on the map. Well, this is where I ended up. And it's not necessarily a bad thing. I actually enjoyed my short stay here.

Framed View
Framed View. Well, in this case, the frames are the view. Their color of choice really stands out from the rest. It even contrasts the sky above.

Underwater
Underwater. Those yellow dot things are either lights or sprinklers,
which I reckon are only activated during the weekend.

In Monochrome
In Monochrome. Signs of fading and cracking from the elements are visible even in the absence of colors. Perhaps a repaint is in order soon?

Kanin Club
Kanin Club. While I was wandering around I stumbled upon this cozy place. I'd recommend it to anyone into Filipino cuisine.

So Filipino
So Filipino. Note the lovely Filipino-themed decor. If that doesn't scream Filipino cuisine, I don't know what does.

The Small Things
The Small Things. I like how the theme goes as far as even including the small things. The native motif goes even into the table texture.

It doesn't end here though. After my errand I went somewhere else. To be continued...

Cold Stone Creamery - Timber

I somehow ended up in Alabang Town Center. I stumbled upon these folks. Needless to say, I had fun taking this video. They're kind of cute here. Pictures on my jaunt here coming soon. Ice cream anyone?

Quiet Coffee Nights

Not every night is a restful night for someone used to staying up late at night. When it's my night off and I'm having a bout of insomnia, I tend to go out. And so here I wander again. Here are a few shots I have from some nights I've been out.
Up For A Long Night
Up For A Long Night. A customer sifts through his documents getting ready to work through the night... Or at least until the coffee shop closes.

Company For The Night
Company For The Night. Another quiet night. I somehow appreciate it.
And it helps to have some nice music and a good cup of coffee.

When was the last time you admired the wall decors?

Where Coffee Came From
Where Coffee Came From. I think it's an appropriate image for the place. While you're sipping your favorite java, spare a thought for those that harvested them.

The Spot That Sees All
The Spot That Sees All. I think that seat there is the best seat in
the whole room. It has a good view of everyone but if you sit there
you don't necessarily stand out.

Awkward Corner
Awkward Corner. The door at the rightmost side is an emergency exit. The bright area at the center is the kitchen/storage/etc. It's not ideal but I think it kinda works somehow.

Floating Rods
Floating Rods. I am fond of these. They look amazing and surreal.
I guess they're a challenge to clean and maintain though.

For more up to date photos of what I've been doing and where I've been, follow me on Instagram. Yes, I have a life outside this blog. Also, you can follow my photostream on Flickr.

Until then, let's get lost and wander. :-)

Here, There, Anywhere...

Hello again, fellow wanderers! How have you been? As usual, a week isn't complete without me going to some random place. Life isn't meant to be lived in one place, after all. I think it's a decent compromise to at least go places on a weekend if you can't roam the planet... yet. Here's a glimpse of the places I've been to recently... Can you guess where some of them were taken?

Coffee Selection
Coffee Selection. See anything you like?
Stacks of different coffee flavors and variants at a local Starbucks.

Waiting For Customers
Waiting For Customers. The waiter looks on as he waits for potential customers walking through the door.

Music Among The Noise
Music Among The Noise. A musician performs at the mall with everyone else passing by,
with a few stopping to listen.

Open Faced
Open Faced. Taken with a Rokinon 7.5mm 3.5 lens.
The lens is far from perfect but the distortion is part of its charm.

Shangri-La
Shangri-La. Applied HDR landscape style.
Not bad for something taken somewhere relatively dark.

Love All, Serve All
Love All, Serve All. Chilling at a local coffee spot waiting for rush hour to pass, with the view of the Hard Rock Cafe slogan on top of Glorietta 3. Iced Sumiyaki is love! Taken at UCC in front of Glorietta 3.

Empty Chair
Empty Chair. Behind the empty chair is the Shangri-la Hotel and an office building.
Trying out this faux HDR effect.

Beneath The Giants
Beneath The Giants. Aiming the fisheye lens up makes some interesting distortions.

Alright, I saved my favorite in this batch for last... I liked this particular photo for its vibrant colors, its angle (this image actually looks surreal both in portrait or landscape orientation)... And then there's that... (cough! glasses... cough!)

Chillin' After Work
Chillin' After Work. Folks are relaxing at the local UCC coffee shop. The crowd here is quite diverse. I actually have an epic crush on that lady with glasses in white. No, I haven't seen her before. She was really standing out among the crowd. Perhaps it's the eye catching glasses or the elegant hair or that simple yet divine top. Well I never really got to talk to her lest I creep her out (Yes, there are some things that some people can't outgrow.)... Some of us are more socially awkward than others.

What? I think she's lovely and cute... Whoever that is. (*blush*)

Until then, let's get lost and wander. :-)
