Weekends At Burgos Circle

I didn't feel like staying at home. I was going to meet some friends tonight, so I thought I'd go and work out. After a few sets I went out and enjoyed the afternoon. Bonifacio Global City is a lovely place. A shame I don't get to enjoy it during the weekdays. Well, it's the weekend, here I am, and with a camera in hand I went out to doing what I like doing-- wandering. Though, no, I'm not necessarily lost. I hardly ever get t go out and enjoy the sights around here though. Taking a second look shows some things I usually miss out on when I go about my daily grind.

Burgos Circle
Burgos Circle. It doesn't look obvious from here, but the grassy area with the trees at the other side of the road is a roundabout, which also serves as a small park. Towering buildings around it provide shade in the afternoon if the trees still won't suffice. The place is surrounded by several restaurants, pubs and other shops that usually open until late night. Dogs, kids and joggers frequent the area during the weekend afternoons.

Jamba Juice
Jamba Juice. One of my favorite hangouts when I'm in the Burgos Circle premises. I'm a fan of their drinks, especially the protein loaded stuff.

Within The Circle
Within The Circle. As I mentioned earlier, the roundabout also serves as a park. Crossing the street gets you to a mini park abundant with trees. The tree with the round top and three trunks isn't real though- it's a metal sculpture.

Beneath the Concrete Trees
Beneath the Concrete Trees. This round shaped metal sculpture intricately done to mimic trees sits at the middle of the circle. Just around the perimeter are high rise condominium units that are just a few of the many structures around this urban jungle.

Beneath The Dome
Beneath The Dome. Going under the faux tree sculpture gives this view. Blink fast and it almost looks real. it's a dome shape supported by three pillars mimicking tree trunks. Look up and it almost looks like you're looking up a forest canopy.

The Clearing Beyond
The Clearing Beyond. It's from the inside looking out. Take a peek outside from beneath the dome and one gets to see the clearing around... And beyond it the buildings that comprise the urban jungle.

Road To Beyond
Road To Beyond. The path leads straight to who knows where... Flanked by trees, then buildings, and who knows what. Alright I actually know that there are shops there just beyond sight.

My Hangout
My Hangout. This is one of my favorite hangouts. It’s a Starbucks that’s just adjacent to office building I work in. I’ve actually made friends with the folks here. I’ll feature some of them soon.

Below Tall Buildings
Below Tall Buildings. This is the public parking lot near the office. The buildings surrounding it are magnificent. It’s comprised of office buildings, condominiums and even a hotel. The one on the right is the hotel but it’s under construction as of writing.

Picture Frames
Picture Frames. For some reason the picture frames look interesting. I like how they’re arranged like that. The images also have a coffee-ish tint to it, appropriate for a coffee shop.

Drink To Get?
Drink To Get? A customer looks on as she decides what to get. A lot of items on the menu and my favorite drink isn’t even there.

Next up: Coffee I love and the folks behind every cup I drink. Until then, let's get lost and wander!

December Nights In Ayala

It was a quiet night. I thought I’d go out and enjoy the lights. It doesn’t have to be a dark and gloomy night. There are lights everywhere cheerful and sparkling making it alright.

Lights All Around
Lights All Around. Visitors look on admiring the season themed lights, like the local shop customers and the tourists taking a stroll.

Brightly Lighted Trees
Brightly Lighted Trees. The night looks lovely and lively with lights aplenty adorning the trunks of the trees in the local landscape. If it were up to me I’d have them there all year.

A Tree Amid The Urban Jungle
A Tree Amid The Urban Jungle. This tree that stands in the greenbelt area looks taller than it actually is. In the backdrop, the urban jungle with buildings towering to great heights. The illumination here is courtesy of the lightbulb adorned palm trees in the vicinity.

Towers Of Lights
Towers Of Lights. I got to a spot a bit far from the lights, and sat among the folks admiring this sight. On some days, the spot I sat on would’ve been a stage. But for tonight it’s my vantage point that gave me this view.

Lighted Disks
Lighted Disks. After that time at the mall, I went to the local park. My friend and I hung out at the coffee shop (CBTL) and I got to see these lovely disc-themed lights.

The Lights Beyond
The Lights Beyond. It was a dark moonless night but I still managed to light up the image. I like how blue the skies get at night. It's a darker shade of blue. Details are brought out and illuminated by the lights from the surrounding area.

Colorless But Not Lifeless
Colorless But Not Lifeless. Even in the absence of different hues, it still makes for a lively night. A giveaway that it was the middle of the night was the fact that there was hardly anyone on sight.

Failed Errand, No Problem

It was the start of October and I was going to go and have the car serviced. Sadly, they're unable to accomodate me so they had me reschedule instead. It was an afternoon too lovely to go home early. I went back to Alabang Town Center. It’s been a while since I’ve last been there.

Rocking Benches
Rocking Benches. I like how innovative this is. It’s a lovechild of your run of the mill bench and rocking chair. And they mixed in a dash of Kit-Kat. It’s the first time I saw a furniture of its kind and it naturally blends in with the surroundings. No awkward looking furniture sticking like a sore thumb here. But I think it’s mean for couples. Or folks with extra girth maybe? (Ehem. Namely yours truly.)

ATC Steps In Color
ATC Steps In Color. It was a beautiful afternoon. Not too bright, not to sunny, the crowds aren't that plenty.

More Kit-kat Benches
More Kit-kat Benches. Them cool benches aren’t in short supply around the area. I’ve seen quite a number of them around. There is a lot of open space here and it feels relaxing to be here. maybe that's why I keep coming back here. Probably the only stifling part of going here would be the toll that needs to be paid on the Skyway.

Exhibits
Exhibits. Everytime I go here the place never looks the same. For this iteration, I encountered some photography exhibit.

Free Workshops!
Free Workshops! Yes there’s a photography workshop here. Too bad I was a tad too tired to digest anything new and I was a bit drained… And hungry. Any other time I would’ve stopped and listened, but not today.

That Open Space
That Open Space. It was early in the day so it wasn’t crowded. I always like this spot in the entire mall de to the greens and open space. It doesn’t feel as stifling.

The Open Space In Color
The Open Space In Color. The monochrome just doesn’t do justice to the trees, grass and other shrubbery. So I originally just take RAW images and process them to later. This also gives me the option to create images in color. I’m also trying out film simulations, so yes, some colors may appear a tad strange to others.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Beef
I Can’t Believe It’s Not Beef. It’s Tuna Salpicao. Tuna! (Tuna Salpi-tuna?) It’s so original to me. Salpicao has always been beef to me and I refer to it as “Salpi-cow". I have no beef with this particular dish. It’s decent, good even for what it’s supposed to be, but personally, I still prefer the original.

Cheese Dynamite
Cheese Dynamite. No it’s not made of anything that literally explodes. It’s supposed to convey that it’s hot and spicy… And cheesy. The cheese is there, and it’s probably spicy enough for most people… I haven’t been able to appreciate it. But for my tastes it wasn’t spicy enough. Still yummy finger food though.

The Rice Of The Harakiri
The Rice Of The Harakiri. Okay, nobody’s going to get disemboweled. Again this also implies spicy food. And that piece of chilli on top is a less than subtle hint. It’s obviously not there to just look pretty. Chop it up and mix with your rice and you’re up for a normal person’s spicy treat. Spicy food enthusiasts may be left a bit less than impressed.

Free Tea For Me
Free Tea For Me. Through a purchased loyalty card, one gets perks apart from a twenty percent discount, namely this complimentary tea... And even more discounts if you brought the discount coupon that came with the card.

Vacant Chairs
Vacant Chairs. It wasn’t really lunch time yet, so it’s almost empty. Just a few folks dining here and there- just the way I like it.

Homburg
Homburg. My frequent companion when I’m wandering: My hat. So far I’ve collected a number of them. Folks refer to it as “Bruno Mars hat” but those that are familiar with it refer to it as the Homburg hat. Then again some websites also refer to it as a fedora. I like the uniqueness of this that sets it apart from the usual baseball cap.

It's not everyday that I get to wander these days. So I sneak a chance whenever I can. Usually on weekends. Also, I started fiddling with cinemagraphs... I'm yet to find a free tool for it though. The professional tools like one below costs money. I got to use it but it costs to have one with no watermark. See below what a bottomless glass of tea looks like.
