Monday Memories: Rolling With The Crew

It was that Sunday in July last 2012. Sundays are usually ho-hum for me. But this particular Sunday was special. I got to spend the day with my cousin, a bona fide car enthusiast. He met up with his fellow enthusiasts for a Sunday drive. When they gather, the parking lot becomes a car show ground. And I mean a real car show for car enthusiasts - one that's all about the cars and without the ridiculous amount of women distracting you trying to look all cute and pretty getting in the way. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just distracting.

The ride getting there. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to ride shotgun in this thoroughbred.

We met up with the other guys at a local mall parking lot. From there they hung out a bit and decided to drive a few miles to another location for lunch. It's awesome to see these four whelled beauties gathered in one place. Here are some of the snaps I managed on that day.

Inside The Mustang: It's a big car, but it's not exactly spacious inside. Love the clean dash and central console though.

M3. I think that badge would be impressive to those that recognize it.

Renesis Inside.

The interior of this particular Corvette looks rather dark and subdued...

... A stark contrast to how it is outside. Loud yet elegant.

To me this screams "Gundam!" This Evolution looks both sporty and elegant. No loud racer wannabe decals to spoil the overall look.

And yes, there was also a Porsche. It's as elegant as they come.

I got lucky enough to have a close look at this beauty. She looks sexier in the metal.

This babe has a big one. And she ain't shy in flaunting it- The monster inside.

This particular beauty is special. That venomous snake emblem is a hint of it.

Under the Cobra's hood

I wonder if this helps the driver get on the CHP's good side and talk his way out of a speeding ticket.

I remember these in Gran Turismo. Never thought I'd see them for real.

There are others that I haven't mentioned yet. As usual, the rest of the pictures can be found here:

Until then, let's get lost and wander! :-)

Monday Memories: San Diego Airport

There's one thing I like about the airport in San Diego, CA. They serve booze. They have a mini museum. I was waiting for my Auntie to pick me up when it was my second time to visit. I got to stroll around and take some pictures.

Mastering the art of airports... Whatever that is.

Nothing screams "Airport Museum" like having an aviation relic in the waiting area.

Learning a little history while waiting for my ride.

Unattended Bags?

I don't know what this is, but yeah, it is something.

Okay, so that plane was a reproduction. That figures...

Not exactly crowded right now...

In grainy monochrome. Well, why not?

I wonder who's he waiting for...

Don't ask me. I don't know what's going on here either. There's a description here somewhere but I forgot to take a picture of it.

Until then, let's get lost and wander! :)

Monday Memories: Strolls Around Saratoga

Exactly two years ago today, that was when I was spending my final days in San Mateo before I was going to fly back to Manila. Needless to say, I miss the place.

Artificial stream. This is the view I remember most in the Saratoga area.

On afternoons when we got back after work I used to go out and took strolls around Saratoga Square. It's a lovely place. There's a wide park with playgrounds and there's even a pool. The houses are lovely and I felt like I was in relative safety. I simply love the neighborhood overall.

Simple rules to help folks stay out of trouble.

Pick up after your pooch!

I would've wanted to play here but I didn't want folks calling the Park Management nor the cops on me.

Overall, a beautiful place! Just look at that sky and the nicely made houses.

These arch things are a nice touch.

Here's another view of the artificial stream.

If I face the opposite direction from the image above, this is what I'd see.

Extra wide stepping stones are a nice touch.

Tired from all that walking? You can sit here.

Frog statues. Personally I'd rather see a Squirtle.

Up close I don't find them cute.

There's also this. Not cute either.

Big brother watching me.

By nightfall, the grounds become empty.

Maybe it's just me, but I find empty swings unsettling.

Empty slides feel kinda lonely too.
